Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce the 2026 International Conference of Physiological Sciences (ICPS2026), hosted by the Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences (CAPS). The conference will take place at the Capital International Convention Center in Beijing, China, from October 15 to 18, 2026.

CAPS was founded in October 1926; therefore, ICPS2026 marks a historic centenary for the Society. Combining ICPS2026 with CAPS’ centennial celebration carries important historical and cultural significance and will have far‑reaching impact on scholarship, talent cultivation, and international collaboration.

The ICPS series began in Beijing (2008), continued in Suzhou (2012), returned to Beijing (2016), and most recently took place in Hangzhou (2025). ICPS2025 in Hangzhou attracted over 1,100 participants from 13 countries and regions, featuring six plenary lectures, 33 symposia, the 18th Chang Hsi-Chun Forum on Physiological Sciences for Young Scholars and the 16th Young Physiologist Symposium. That strong turnout and high‑quality exchange have further established ICPS as a premier global platform for physiological science.

As life sciences become increasingly interdisciplinary and basic discoveries move rapidly toward translation, international collaboration and talent exchange are essential. Integrating ICPS2026 with the centennial events will leverage this milestone to attract top international scholars and institutions, enhance the meeting’s scientific profile, and combine reflective perspectives with forward‑looking agendas. The conference will celebrate a century of progress in Chinese physiology, identify strategic priorities for the future, accelerate translation of basic research into clinical, public‑health, and industrial applications, and strengthen long‑term international networks for cooperation and training.

ICPS2026 will feature plenary lectures and multiple symposia that bring together leading global experts to discuss cutting‑edge discoveries and emerging trends across all areas of physiology. The program will also include a Young Physiologist Symposium, poster sessions, and an exhibition of physiological and biomedical instruments, offering opportunities for demonstrations, technical exchange, and closer collaboration between CAPS and industry partners.
